Botanical Description: A much branched suberect or trailing annual, leaves trifoliate,leaflets lanceolate or oblong, entire, membranous, flowers yellow, 1-3 in the axils of the leaves, one at the base and two placed laterally, fruits sword shaped, compressed pods about 5cm long, tipped with the persistent style, seeds 5-6 compressed reniform, usually reddish brown. Flowering and fruiting from August to November.
It is found and cultivated throughout India.
