Latin Name: Saraca indica
Indian Name: Ashoka
Habitat: Cultivated in gardens throughout India for its handsome flowers. It is distributed in South Asia, i.e. in Malaysia , Indonesia , Srilanka and India.
Useful in: Highest concentration of Ashoka & Lodhra (1200 mg each) ensures prompt response in uterine disorders, especially in Menorrhagia. Ashoka in Ayurveda is known as a 'Stambhak' - having antihaemorrhagic properties. Bark is useful in menorrhagia due to uterine fibroids and other causes.

It is use as a uterine tonic; it stimulates the uterus by the prolonged and frequent uterine contractions. It is also suggested in all cases of bleeding.
